TMEPA
is a membership association of all 60 Municipal Electric Power Providers of Tennessee serving over 2.1 million homes and businesses.  This figure includes over 70% of the electric consumers in the State of Tennessee.  Our Primary objective is to represent the members in the state legislative arena although we do participate in national issues in conjunction with APPA and TVPPA.  As a service oriented organization, we also provide a number of other services to the members and exist for their benefit.  Membership in TMEPA brings a host of benefits to its members and the financial savings have certainly exceeded the nominal annual fee each system pays.  The following are informational documents that may be of interest.  Just “click” on the title for more information.

The First Session of the 107th General Assembly last year saw a change in the "Move Over Tennessee" law which added utilities.
We're very happy about this addition and urge you to take a look at the website containing all the information.  Just click on the logo to the right.

You'll notice in the left margin a category of Membership titled - Associate Members.  We encourage you to click on this link to view the organizations who financially support TMEPA and its activities.  The highest level of support is Partner (Level 4).  We are grateful to each of them and encourage you to give them the opportunity to serve your system needs. Members may access the 2011 Legislative Reports through the Members Only page.  This page also has the minutes of our previous meetings, including Board Meetings, the Approved Board Policies, and 2010 (Second Session) and 2009 (First Session) Legislative Reports.  If you have misplaced your login and password, give us a call.   Our 2012 Legislative Rally & Reception will once again be at the Sheraton Downtown on February 21, 2012.  All Members of the General Assembly will be invited (including their staff).  The TMEPA Legislative Committee will meet at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Sheraton.  Tuesday, February 21 will host the TMEPA Board of Directors 9:30 a.m.  The TEPAC Board of Directors will meet immediately following the Meeting Rally on the same day.

The 2012 Annual Meeting of the Members will be at the Carnegie Hotel and the adjoining Millennium Center in Johnson City, TN.  Many of you will recall our fabulous 2005 annual meeting where Bristol Essential Services (Dr. Browder) made arrangements for TMEPA to hold the Welcoming Reception at the Bristol Motor Speedway!  I still have pictures of that amazing evening.  The East District Member Systems will be the Planning Committee so get your thoughts to them.   Again I'd like to send our many thanks to all those who helped make our 2011 annual meeting such a success including our sponsors.  Click on the link below to view these remarkable folks;
