TMEPA is a membership association of 59 of the 60 Municipal Electric Power
Providers of Tennessee serving over 2.1 million homes and businesses.
Smithville Electric System is the only one not a member. This figure includes over 70% of the electric consumers in the State
of Tennessee. Our Primary objective is to represent the members in the
state legislative arena although we do participate in national issues in
conjunction with APPA and TVPPA. As a service oriented organization, we
also provide a number of other services to the members and exist for their
benefit. Membership in TMEPA brings a host of benefits to its
members and the financial savings have certainly exceeded the nominal annual
